We originally got into the Alpaca business out of our love for animals. Our current farm is home to not only our camelids, but six horses, eight dogs (most of them are rescues), two goats and a cat, and we can’t forget the guard llama (Dahlilama). However, this gentle little breed began growing on us and soon we were hooked. They are low maintenance animals, calm, friendly with such different, yet sweet dispositions. They carry their babies for almost a year before giving birth. The fleece that is sheared from the animals in the spring is so luxurious and equally as soft as cashmere. It seemed to be a business that was ideal, yet a far cry from our backgrounds in medicine and business. Raising alpacas has only a few requirements—love for animals, land and shelter (or a reputable farm to board your animals), and the desire and dedication to grow a lucrative business to promote the species with love and compassion.
We have some herdsires with excellent genetics available for breedings and sometimes we have alpacas for sale as well. We also sell alpaca yarn, hand knit/crocheted garments and adorable alpaca teddy bears. Please contact us for any of the above services or come out for a farm visit! We love to show the herd off.
